Discernment in Leadership (Part 2)

It is important for you to know and follow what heaven is saying then it becomes easy for you to lead.
When you are going for a business deal and you know that it is yours no matter how much they try to discourage you, you stay on it because you have heard what heaven is saying, but if it is not yours, you won’t even go there in the first place. So you need to interpret actions, you need to interpret situations; some people say every disappointment is a blessing? Is every obstacle a stepping stone or a warning from God to go back? How do you know? You have to be able to discern, once you cannot discern - you cannot know. You either go to a higher prophet and if the higher prophet doesn’t know, it is left for you to insist on God and say “God, I have spoken to you about this thing, you didn’t tell me, you have not told me and I know you didn’t forget, but if you forgot I am reminding you, so you have to talk” You insist, you entreat, you importunate and God will speak to you, God will graciously respond. There are times you need to pinch on his mercy, there are some other times that you invoke the mercy of God, we call it prayer of petition. Some other times you add a vow to it, to you make sure that you break through the obstacle and hear what the heavens is saying and when you hear what it is saying you have peace.
So this spirit said “I will go and be a lying spirit” his prophets were lying to him and he didn’t know, the prophets themselves - a new spirit came upon them and none of them could wrestle against it, and they lied to this man and the man accepted it. This is not good for leaders. I need you to understand the steps of why people succeed; they succeed because they break through this. Don’t take things on surface value, there are altars that are against you and until you start seeing in the realm of the spirit, the picture won’t start appearing clear to you.
And God said “Thou shall persuade him and prevail also” God said this thing is going to succeed, why will it succeed, all the prophets lack enough sensitivity, they do not have enough maturity, they cannot consult, and when one different prophet came and spoke otherwise, they were not sensible enough to hold a break and say “Why is this man the only distinct man from all of us?” because of their inability. The person who is at risk is not the prophet, the person who is at risk is not the angel that is confusing the prophet, and the person who is at risk is you the leader. Because what it means is you may not live to see the next event that is what it means; so you would have made major mistake.
It also comes out of you showing your love for God. Have you read in the Bible, Job said “Even if you persecute me, even if slay me, I will still trust you” that is the level that leaders must come into. Leaders must make solid decisions, if you listen to the advice of everybody, you can’t serve God like that and you can’t leave your destiny like that. You are here today and there tomorrow, you move this way and that way then your life won’t amount to anything. Now because there is a possibility that your pastor himself can be under an illusion, because you have some money in your pocket and he is interested in getting some of that money, then he will tell you some things and he says “Don’t worry the Lord is with you” and you say yes while it is an illusion.
One of the easiest things you can do is to say “O God, speak to me again”, “O God, what is happening in the realm of the spirit?” “O God, where am I going?” “This thing you are doing where is it going?” But if you are not discerning, you will use situations: “He that looks to the wind…” - look unto God. Don’t allow situations to start influencing you. I pray in the name of Jesus, you will not be deceived anymore in life so that when even a prophet is lying to you, you can look at him again and say excuse me, are you sure? When you ask him twice, are you sure? The man knows that you yourself are conversant with the realm of the spirit.
You have a need for discernment in order to be able to separate and distinguish, which is very critical. Look at the word Yahdal; Yahdal is the Hebrew word for discernment, some things that are cause for concern; to know who is your friend or who is enemy, how do you know?-discernment: Ability to know and properly ascertain. What you see spiritually can be figurative, it can be inferential but by repetition recognition comes and you are acquainted with the ways of it. Don’t step out and say what you know nothing about instead say “see this matter, I am still praying give me time”; from heaven vow comes in, mercy comes in, interception also comes in; that is when somebody steps in for you that is interception. if I say “God, if you do this for me I will do this for you” that is vow. I go to mercy, “O God, I have come now have mercy on me, forget all the wrong things I have done, help me on this matter”; a leader must be able to do that, that is why you must have a place of prayer, you must be close enough to God. Church must not be a second matter in your life, church must be principal, it must take your attention, it must be something you are not joking about; it is not the day I have time I will go to church and the day I don’t - I will not go to church you know I am very busy, busy doing what? Going round the clock for four years, then after your political tenure is over then that is the end, most leaders are regretting today, people who made church second issue in their lives.
So I summarized it: you detect with your senses, you hear with your ears, you smell with your nose, you discern, you recognize, you identify - this is the voice of Jacob therefore this is Jacob, he can smell like Esau but its Jacob. You can distinguish between right and wrong, you can separate them and they cannot confuse you, you recognize mentally, you see it, you process it, you know it in your head. When God says stop wasting your energy on this person’s life, I leave the person: you come to church, you don’t come to church - I don’t care, the one that I care I will pursue. I say “God, I am pursuing this one, look at the way he is behaving and he says help him a little bit more, when he says that, I will help. When God says it is enough, I hands up and just sit down. That is why somebody who is a leader himself must understand and move closer to God, this is not the age of somebody praying for you.
